Fit and proper assessments in Estonia

Suitability is assessed for a particular role in a particular institution. A CV is only a starting point: responsibilities, actual experience, time commitment, reputation, conflicts and the collective composition of the management body may all matter.

The institution must carry out its own assessment. Whether notification, supervisory review or an interview follows depends on the institution type, role and applicable rules.

We review the role, questionnaire and evidence; identify inconsistencies and gaps; support the institution’s assessment in the agreed scope; and practise clear explanations of the business model, risks, controls and management decisions.

Interview preparation is intended to explain real experience and decisions. It cannot replace missing competence or secure a favourable regulatory finding.
